Improvised Book Club for Families at Newcastle Common Library

Come and join the Honey Pot Village Improvised Book club at Newcastle Common Library at 11am on Friday 19 August.

Ilaria the storyteller will help you create original characters and you’ll even get to help write the book. Bring your grownups and something like a hat, sunglasses, handbag (or something silly!) to help you with your character.

Adults must stay and are encouraged to join in. Good fun for the whole family.

Pidge’s Big Adventure at Newcastle Common Library

Join Pidge, a young pigeon from the town, as he explores the countryside for the first time in our Newcastle Common library on Friday 19 August at 12.30pm & 2pm.

Along the way Pidge finds clues, objects & other wildlife which lead him to Owly, a wise old owl at the Tree of Life. Together, they share magical moments exploring the outdoors & enjoying the countryside.

Dommy B’s Greatest Hits (Bang! Crash! Boom!) at Newcastle Common Library

Drop-in to our Newcastle Common library on Friday 12 August from 2pm to 3pm for an exciting story-telling experience by Dommy B, a slinger-of-words who has won loads of competitions all over the world for the words he slings and the way he slings them! 

Come and experience a hilarious, full set of Dommy B’s favourite stories and poems, classic and new, about battling magic monsters and ingenious gadgeteers with exploding creations!

Big Feast ’22: Special Delivery

by A Bird in the Hand Theatre

SPECIAL DELIVERY is a simple story about the delights of trying something unexpected. When a heavily laden postman is suddenly surprised by a rain shower he discovers that all his packages have lost their labels. In the process of trying to work out the intended recipients, he discovers a bit more about the people on his rounds – and decides to bring a little sunshine into all of their lives. SPECIAL DELIVERY is a sweet and gentle show without words that appeals to both adults and children, blending beautiful puppetry with a good dollop of silliness.

Big Feast ’22: The Lost Opera

These huge bewildering beasts will twist themselves through the town, each one ready to perform together with a musical composition like you have never heard.

The Lost Opera is an interactive sound performance and dance piece. It Utilises specially created interactive technology to re-shape the boundaries of what can be achieved through costume, movement and sound.
