Appetite are thrilled to be launching the first Audience Choice Award for The Three Counties Open Art Exhibition.

The Three Counties Open Art Exhibition is organised by Arts Keele, one of Appetite’s new partners as we extend our work into Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough.

The Three Counties usually takes place in the beautiful and historic Burslem School of Art throughout July and August in partnership with the Burslem School of Art Trust, The City Learning Trust and Barewall Gallery. The show gives artists based in Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire the opportunity to exhibit their work in a public exhibition. This year, due to COVID-19, the exhibition has moved online in a fantastic virtual gallery which you can visit from 1- 31 August 2020.

There are a range of prizes on offer and this year as part of our partnership Appetite are running the brand new Audience Choice Award. This is all about the public taking part in and voting for which of 20 shortlisted works deserves to be crowned the first Audience Choice Award Winner and be awarded the prize of £250.

Members of the Appetite Supper Club –  our community panel of local residents who help us make decisions about Appetite’s programme – were asked to view all over 200 submissions to the exhibition. They really enjoyed this process, viewing and talking about the fantastic artworks. They then had the difficult decision of coming up with a top 20 list of works, alongside the other Three Counties judges, which we are now sharing with you the public to vote on!

Voting is open from Monday 3 August until Sunday 23 August. We will be announcing the winner on Thursday 27 August.
