Appetite are once again giving young people the opportunity to their Arts Award Discover at this year’s Seasonal Specials events!
What is Arts Award?
Arts Award is a nationally recognised organisation which aims to encourage and support young people who want to increase their engagement and understanding of the arts. The Arts Award is open to anyone aged up to 25, and embraces all interest and backgrounds.
Its easy to take part and complete your Arts Award Discover. First head into Stoke-on-Trent City Centre to enjoy our Seasonal Specials line-up. Then either pick up an Arts Award pack onsite at the events – in your pack you’ll find the Arts Award booklet, featuring all the details of the art-based tasks to be completed in order to achieve the Arts Award, plus some pens and crayons to help inspire you to get creative – alternatively download our online version of the booklet below.

What do I do once I’ve finished my Arts Award pack?
If you complete your pack whilst at the installation you can hand your completed log book back to the Appetite Information Point. If you wish to take your Arts Award pack home you can post it to us at Appetite c/o New Vic Theatre, Etruria Road, Newcastle, ST5 0JG. If you complete the online version please print and post it to this address or email the completed online pdf to askus@appetitestoke.co.uk.
Once your pack is received, you will then receive your certificate in the post within 4-6 weeks. Please ensure your address is clearly written so we can ensure it reaches you!

Why is Arts Award important?
Arts Award is recognised nationally, so details of the Arts Award can be featured on the likes of CVs and college applications. It will allow young people to gain experience and knowledge to help progress into further education and employment. Additionally, it allows young people completing Arts Award to use their creativity, leadership, reflective thinking and communication skills that are essential to everyday life.
The principles of the Arts Award are:
- to offer learning and qualifications which support creative development in any setting
- to place young people at the heart of the Arts Award process
- to increase young people’s experience and understanding of arts practitioners and cultural organisations
- to embrace new art forms and technologies
- to reach the widest possible range of young people
