The World in One City International Feast!
To celebrate United Nations Day, The World in One City International Feast will bring you a banquet of internationally flavoured arts. From storytelling from around the world, dance inspired by African tales to contemporary Persian music plus much more! Come along and celebrate in the grand surroundings of Spode’s China Hall. In partnership with British Ceramics Biennial.

11am-4pm: Karvan
Discover the wonderfully decorated 16ft Karvan in the Spode Rose Garden and travel the world through storytelling and poetry.
Get Clay-zy with Ceramics
(All free to join in with and you can collect your creations from the BCB festival once they’ve been fired)
11am-2pm: Throw the Pot workshop
Your chance to throw a pot on a proper potters wheel in the Potteries!
11am-2pm: Mash up Meals Session
Create illustrative designs on plates inspired by various foods from around the world using ceramic decals.
11am-2pm: Brilliant Bread Cloches
Design and hand build your own terracotta bread cloche for baking bread at home.
WORLD MUSIC AROUND BCB AS PART OF FEAST
10:45 am (Spode Entrance)
An Indian Duo featuring Jonathan Mayer will meet and greet you at the entrance to Spode
11:00 am (Hub Stage)
The Remi Harris Music Project will be weaving some wonderful sounds with a series dash of Gypsy Jazz live on the Hub Stage.

11:45 am (Hub Stage)
A Flamenco Trio will be dancing theer way through another live 30 minute set of the Hub Stage.
12:15 pm (Caroline Tattershall Exhibition)
An Arabic Oud Duo will entertain audiences around the Caroline Tattershall Exhibition until 12:35 pm.
1pm: Azadeh (Hub Stage)
Western and Persian influences combine to make Azadeh’s ethereal and balladic music. Here’s a link to one of our favourite Azadeh tunes filmed for the BBC: Open the Window
1:40 pm (Bread in Common Cafe)
Jonathan Mayer will be back to perform a 20 minute set in the cafe area!
DANCE & DRUMS PERFORMANCE
2pm: When King Gogo met the Chameleon, Tavaziva Dance
A spell binding magical dance tale inspired by traditional African tales for children and families
2:30 pm (Hub Stage)
A full on Jewish Klemzer will provide the tunes as we work of lunch live on the Hub Stage till 3pm.
Then from 3-4pm wrap the whole day up with an hour of Burslem Jubilee’s favourite party tunes from around the world! Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to get your boogie on in China Hall!
