Discover more about Newcastle’s very own Philip Astley, the father of modern circus, in the Philip Astley exhibition, taking place from Saturday 7 August until early September in the window of Appetite’s Newcastle Common shop in Astley Walk, located on the corner of Lad Lane and Astley Walk.
The exhibition has been produced by showman, performer and Philip Astley expert Andrew Van Buren and features exciting gems from Van Buren’s own collection including the original life-sized statue of Philip Astley sculpted by renown artist Andy Edwards.

The exhibition will be launched on the same day as Astley Fest. Updates on Astley Fest Updates can be found at: The Philip Astley Project Facebook Page & on Twitter also on the Philip Astley Project website: www.philipastley.org.uk.
