📌 Newcastle Common 📅 Saturday 11 February ⏰ 10am-4pm
Keele University will mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2023 in a collaboration with Appetite exploring themes of innovation and gender – as well as outer space!
There will be science-based activities for you to try, from seismic tables to making cells, neuro-psychological experiments and observing the sun ☀️ There will also be creative workshops to join with three local artists on the day exploring science and gender through art.
Did you know that forensic science at Keele University has been ranked among the Top 10 in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2023, and its scientific research changes real lives for the better at a regional, national and global level? Who more fitting to showcase the possibilities of science to the curious minds of Newcastle-under-Lyme than the local university with world-class credentials?
Have we sparked your imagination? Then come along and see how exciting, fun and creative your journey in science can be! And it’s not just for girls, so we hope to you ALL there.
“We celebrate the achievements of women, known and unknown, remembered and forgotten, who have forged the way for those of us in science today, and to give an opportunity for children – girls and boys – to choose role models in science.”
