It’s the countdown to Christmas and Jack Frost has taken all the warmth from the City. Hanley Town Hall shivers and shimmers with an icy glow. Jack Frost stalks around the town freezing everything he passes. Will the people survive the winter with no fire to warm their homes? Will there be enough power to turn on the lights?
As the clocks tick forward the Christmas countdown, the local people gather together by the Town Hall looking for warmth. They call for the giant fire bird to come to their rescue. It enters the space led by two fire sprites wielding their pyrotechnic wands. Jack Frost tries to stop them melting the ice but the fire bird sees him off. The fire sprites celebrate by spinning on their fire wheels delight. The Town Hall glows with warmth and now the countdown starts. The Christmas lights illuminate the town and stars fill the sky.
With physical performance, giant puppetry, recorded soundtrack, fire jugglers and pyrotechnics EEA will create an unforgettable Christmas spectacle that will be an amazing start of Stoke-on-Trent’s Christmas Celebrations. There will also be a spectacular light show on Hanley Town Hall.
