The Light Grotto by Philip Hardaker #LightNightSOT

The Light Grotto is an exhibition by Philip Hardacre combining of 30 years of exploring light through sculpture.

The Light Grotto explores environmental issues, historic events, preservation of the earth, and love of the Potteries.

It has both serious intent laced with irony and a strong sense of humour.

Recent work featured includes works created with ‘Parian’, a beautiful translucent clay which responds to light exquisitely.

Since leaving the Royal College of Art in London in 1980, Philip set up his Studio in Stoke in 1983, working as a self-employed artist and educator.

The exhibition runs at Barewall Art Gallery until Saturday 9 Feb 2019.
