Escape into a world of fairytales and fantasy in an afternoon of performance, storytelling and music brought to you by Sir Thomas Boughey Academy pupils, Twisted.

Join us outside at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy in Halmerend for a fantastic lineup of free entertainment for all the family.

Enchantasia has been developed in collaboration with Year 10 students at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy as part the Appetite Cultural Academy: Self Made programme. Self-Made is all about inspiring young people to make things happen for themselves and to make a difference to where they live. Over the past year the students have worked with mentors and arts professionals to create and develop their very own event, Enchantasia The Appetite Cultural Academy has been created by Appetite in partnership with Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and funded by the Staffordshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Proceeds of Crime Fund.

The Programme:

 The Fairy Ball – The Moody Food

Be swept away at The Fairy Ball and have a boogie as local ceili band The Moody Food bring their lively Irish, Scottish and American tunes to Enchantasia.

The Storyteller – Ian Douglas

Settle in as master storyteller Ian Douglas weaves magical tales of fantastical folk and creatures.

The Fabularium

Hear tales from the forest in a splendid musical walkabout with woodland creatures from The Fabularium.

The Elves – Acrojou

Will you spot them? Don’t miss the playful and mischievous Elves as they appear and disappear doing wondrous tricks at Enchantasia.

Fairytale Hat Making with Laurel Gallagher

Witch or Fairy Queen? Sorcerer or mermaid? Who will you become? Join in our Fairytale Hat Making workshop and discover your inner fairytale character.
