Welcome to The Great Kickroo! An afternoon of performance and fun in Clough Hall Park celebrating Kidsgrove and the history of this wonderful park, brought to you by University Academy Kidsgrove pupils.
The Great Kickroo features an exciting lineup of juggling and circus acts, circus workshops, live music and more.
The Great Kickroo has been developed in collaboration with Year 10 students at University Academy Kidsgrove as part the Appetite Cultural Academy: Self Made programme. Self-Made is all about inspiring young people to make things happen for themselves and to make a difference to where they live. Over the past year the students have worked with mentors and arts professionals to create and develop their very own event, The Great Kickroo.
The Appetite Cultural Academy has been created by Appetite in partnership with Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and funded by the Staffordshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Proceeds of Crime Fund.
The Programme:
As well as a fab lineup of live music from local talent to be announced very soon, The Great Kickroo presents:
The Ringmaster by Artizani
Towering above the public, the stilt walking Ringmaster is a larger than life character who brings colour and spectacle to The Great Kckroo with his fabulous costume and quick witted banter.
This is a walkabout act but you’ll be unlikely to miss him!
Jon Udry Juggler
There are jugglers. There are comedians. And there is Jon Udry. Jon combines the two to such a brilliant effect that his unique performance has his audience roaring with laughter from entrance to the final curtain. Formerly the British Young Juggler Of The Year and New Act of the Year Finalist 2018, prepare to be seriously impressed.
