Placeshaker and Artist Maker, Dan Thompson, is hosting a new session #allabouttheroad, his year long project with Appetite and Second Look Stoke.
This time he’s hosting his session at the wonderul new creative space recently taken over by local particpatory arts experts B Arts. 72 Hartshill Road, Stoke.
Dan has invited a few special guests who will all be leading sessions on inspiring local action and utilising the arts to make a difference in your community.
Guests on the day will include:
Totally Locally:
Totally Locally is an award-winning social enterprise and shop local movement. We support independent retailers with a free branding and marketing campaign for their town. Teams of volunteers use the campaign to promote the value of local shopping, celebrate their high street, create community events, and ultimately lift their local economy. Totally Locally is more than a shop local campaign, it’s about working together to lift a whole town.
Second Look Stoke:
Second Look Stoke is an initiative set up to encourage people to “take another look” at the town of Stoke and see what is good about it. An idea that has emerged from the community, it is also about local people working together in creative and sustainable ways to make the town even better for the future.
East Street Arts:
East Street Arts is a contemporary arts organisation in Leeds. Our mission is to focus on the development of artists through our events programme, membership activities, professional development and studio/facility provision.
The event is free of charge and we’re aiming to fill the building with local people who want to, learn more about this year long project #allabouttheroad, and who want to make a difference to their community using arts as a new approach for change.
There’s no need to register, simply pop along to B Arts, grab yourself a brew and get ready to champion change through creativity.
