Now in its third year, the London Road Festival is set to give you more art, music, dance and colour!
The main festival weekend takes place on Saturday and Sunday the 7-8th June with a week of follow up events under the banner of the Festival Echo continuing until the 14th June.
Supported by the Arts Council England a number of artists have been commissioned for the festival. Two of them have produced thirty-six large scale banners to line the one and half mile London Road.
This forms part of the Open Air Gallery which can be seen from 7 – 14 June. You can hop onto our vintage bus over the festival weekend if you want to see them in style and spot windmills along the way too…well you won’t be able to miss them!
Other artists have been beavering away creating colourful art works that can be seen around the local area. Artwork by local school children will be displayed in Stoke Town shop windows. Our ‘Artist About Town’ will be popping up before and after the festival to inspire people to get involved and make their own creations too… she even has her own shop! You can pop in to see her for afternoon tea from Tuesday 20th May.
As well as the new addition of a Literary Fringe tent there will be great bands, classical musicians, radio workshops and a dedicated Teen Zone, featuring the all new ‘Roots Stage’ which showcases local young performers.
If that wasn’t enough… there will be a unique dance performance to inspire you, plenty of handmade and vintage stalls to browse and pop up art galleries to mooch around…so come and ‘Take Another Look’ at Stoke.
