Corey Baker, the Assistant Choreographer and Rehearsal Director of Spill, shares his personal experience of choreographic process, talking through stimuli, music, pace, use of narrative, arc of show, editing & crafting work.
A mixture of practical, theory and task based exercises. This workshop is for professional and student dancers, choreographers, community dance practitioner or teachers.

COREY BAKER
Raised in Christchurch, Canterbury, Corey trained in classical ballet in New Zealand and Australia before moving to Basel, Switzerland to join dance company Ballet Theatre Basel, then going on to train with Martha Graham’s Steve Brooks in Houston, Texas. Moving to the UK, Corey joined BalletBoyz Dance Company, and went on to work with Mathew Bourne, Russell Maliphant, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Mark Brew Dance Company, and Shaun Parker and Company. Corey Baker is a professional choreographer.

CBD commissions include work for Prix de Lausanne, Leipzig Festival, Sydney Youth Ballet Company, Notting Hill Festival, Rambert Youth Dance Company, elevate Dance Company, Kneehigh Theatre Company, International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) and Cultural Olympiad. Corey Baker is currently undertaking an International Residency for IDFB 2014.
