Emergency Poet

Emergency Poet

Poetry on Prescription!
Emergency Poet is the world’s first and only mobile poetic first aid service.

A mix of the serious and the theatrical – there are skulls, jars of eyeballs and other body parts inside the ambulance, as well as poemcetamols – and dressed in white coat and stethoscope, she travels in her 1950’s ambulance, accompanied by Nurse Verse, to literary and music festivals, libraries, schools, pubs…anywhere where poetic help may be required…

Appetite says: Take five, take a load off and take some time this Saturday (3 August) to visit the Emergency Poet. Just five minutes in the 1950’s ambulance will leave you refreshed and ready to face the world again fully recharged!

This performance is part of Pavement Cafe. Across most Saturdays in August, Appetite will turn the City Centre (Hanley) into a hive of family friendly activities and shows, all completely FREE, from the bouncy castle of Tangled Feet to the funny but watery Mr Lucky’sParty. What will you stumble across?
