As part of Africa 54, Kwanzaa Collective UK and Appetite invite you to join prizewinning writer and editor Akulah Agbami on Afrika Joy, a four-week online writing and learning journey that will explore different expressions and formats of joy across the continent of Africa. You will use geography, history, art, music, traditions, politics – yes, really! – as inspiration for joy-filled poetry and prose.
The journey will be collective, individual and spiritual as you wind your way treading softly on Afrika’s shifting sands. Writers of all levels of experience (or none) are very welcome.
Online sessions are on consecutive Thursdays 10, 17, 24 November and 1 December, 6.30 – 8.30pm. You are welcome to join as many of the sessions as you like, and are even encouraged to attend more than one to get the most out of the experience.
There will also be an in-person sharing event held on at the end of the journey on Saturday 3 December in Newcastle Town Centre.
Details of how to join the workshops on Zoom will be sent when you register for the event via .
