About Shelley Jayne Crawford
Shelley Jayne Crawford, an illustrator born and bred within Newcastle Borough, is the next Artist in Residence at Newcastle Common’s 23 High Street space.
Exploring the vibrancy of circus history and finding unique ways to incorporate circus stories, her project will culminate in a town trail that celebrates heritage as well as modern day details.
Shelley will be with us throughout the month of October, and available to chat to about her work on Tuesday 19 and Thursday 21 from 10am to 2pm.
Marvellous Mark Making Activities
Join Shelley at our high street Newcastle Common space on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 October from 10am to 3pm for Marvellous Mark Making. An opportunity to explore playful mark making and drawing inspired by circus design with textures, stencils and printing. Transform your unique creation on paper into a carnival flag that you can take home and display, or carry out your own procession around town!
